ABOUT COMPANY

Vortex Energy Overview

Vortex Energy was established in 2014 with a mandate to invest in the renewable energy sector, particularly solar and wind. It later expanded its scope of investment to include a wider range of clean energy technologies to benefit from and contribute to the growing clean energy transition.

Since inception, Vortex Energy has completed the entire investment life cycle, from acquisition and asset management to refinancing and divestment of three large-scale renewable energy portfolios (Vortex I, Vortex II and Vortex III) in Europe and the UK, with a total net capacity of 822MW. Today, it stands as a leading energy transition investment platform with its flagship fund, Vortex Energy IV and has successfully closed the first investment under the fund with a significant minority stake in Ignis Energia – one of the largest clean energy developers in Spain. Building on its operational and financial excellence, Vortex Energy’s strategy is centered around growing its investor and asset bases. To do so, it targets reputable institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, and strategic investment partners the world over. It also pursues a combination of stable long-term contracted assets that generate cash for distribution and a steady yield, and growth assets that increase in value over time. Vortex Energy sources its assets in-house or through partnerships with best-in-class operators and developers such as EDPR and Lightsource BP. It is sponsored, seeded, and managed by Beaufort, a subsidiary of EFG Hermes.
